assume it's Osipova demanding to dance with Hallberg! (little Mr O'Hare can do about that)
Why ????

I am beyond disappointed that Alex Campbell is not dancing Romeo and glad that I am not alone . Nor is this the first time I have felt this, as others have voiced. I too have seen him dance a superb Romeo and however excellent he is as Mercutio ,expected him to take the lead. I assume that he will be dancing Mercutio ?????

Am I the only one suffering from regular but very brief buffering? It plays havoc with the audio stream, and makes it very difficult to take in the music or what's being said. It's as if everything has hiccups in it!
No you are not the only one. And the buffering is only adding to my frustration after the silent BRB section

Well, at least New Street Station is finished. Otherwise, the place has been a building site for years. I got really annoyed by all the diversions in the Symphony Hall area last time I was up there - which was a couple of years ago now.
Be grateful you do not live here !!!!

I am concerned that Campbell isn’t getting the big roles because I am worried he might go elsewhere! I was genuinely quite shocked that he wasn’t initially cast as the principal lead in Giselle, Manon or Swan Lake, and I’m disappointed he hasn’t been given the opportunity to dance Rudolf.
You and me both Alice and my guess is that we will not be alone

Everything that has already been written occurs to me especially re the funding. And boy does he deserve the knighthood. The announcement says its with a heavy heart and I am sure that I am not alone in having a heavy heart right now. but I can only wish him the happiest future.

Hi everyone,
When might we know casting for the delightful BRB Sleeping Beauty? I would love to see divine Delia Mathews and Brandon Lawrence dance it, but I imagine we won't know casting until a month or so before?
It's just that I'd like to buy train tickets, actual tickets, book hotel etc whilst all are affordable!
Otherwise I will have to gamble by booking a Friday, and two Saturday shows, hoping D&B will be dancing in one of those 😓
If you are very lucky you might have them by the second week in January

She's been paired with both of them, with great success in both cases I think. I'm delighted that she and Sambé are doing Giselle together, but I would very much like to see Campbell do Albrecht too, which is my only disappointment in the casting. He has an innate stage presence and dramatic intelligence that is very rare (reminds me of David Wall, and I can give no higher compliment).
Agree. Hugely disappointed that Alex is not dancing Albrecht

Assuming those were the Loseleys, they're actually distinctly large. ATG also provide the smaller Beechdean ones for £3 (assuming they haven't gone up), but you have to hunt for them (Dress Circle in Wimbledon, if anyone's interested - just thought I'd save anyone else having to go all round the theatre ). At Wimbledon I've pointed out several times that I am *not* going to pay more for an ice cream in a theatre than I can pay to eat one in Pizza Express across the road
Again, experience at Wimbledon, but I didn't think the fruit juices were unreasonable. I'm assuming the prices are more or less the same nationwide.
Matter of time, certainly, especially given his acting abilities. But I imagine he'll start off dancing Gentlemen of one sort or another this time around.
He is listed to dance the Prince in Nutcracker a couple of times

Really looking forward to tomorrow's matinée.
You and me both. Saw Alex debut this role with B.R.B. Francesca is the icing on the cake

I'm at that matinee too, Janet and was delighted with the casting.
Me too!

The BCC have made a couple of enormous stuff-ups involving equal pay and it's service contracts, esp IT. The new library is another one - projected build cost £160m, actual build cost £189m, final cost (when it has all been paid for) £590m (estimated - it will be higher).
Spending on a library where within 12 months departments were being mothballed and opening hours reduced, due to cost..
I would love to see Hobsons Choice. Aladdin does nothing for me either but the decision is made. So so sad

When this was first announced in the press it emerged that that all the organisations in Birmingham ,ie Bham Rep. C.B,S.O and B.R.B will be receiving less local authority support than any of their regional equivalents.
And I pay Council Tax in Brum!

I do so agree with Bruce about Marion. Decades of total, single minded devotion to one company.
Yes, I'm actually beginning to get very fed up about this. Especially in this year of BRB anniversaries it would have the obvious time to give David Bintley a knighthood. I just hope it happens soon.
Congratulations to all these recipients . For the past few years I have been hoping to hear that David Bintley has been knighted- - it would be a fitting recognition for all he has achieved. Hopefully it will come soon.
I say this every year. It is now over 20 years since Sir Peter Wright was given this very much deserved recognition but BRB artists and staff seem to get left way behind the RB when honours are being considered. Mary Clarke used to make this point from time to time.
I search the lists every December and June and so agree with the feelings above. Can't we get the ball rolling? If it is not already

Oh you lucky soul!
But I wasn,t. Cast change.. Enjoyable anyway

I've just telephoned the Hippodrome. The performance is on in the Patrick Centre which I suppose you would call the studio theatre of the Hippodrome.
I agree it's a terrible shame that this event has not been publicised better, I would love to have gone.
I found the original series incredibly moving. One of my friends went to the Ballet Hoo! performance and said it was the most moving performance she had ever seen.
Me too Jan. Why oh why has there never been a DVD produced?

Wishing her every success with the main Company.
Think those of us devoted to B.R.B regard it as the sister Company

A limited run including 6 performances at the Lowry, 4 in Sunderland and 6 in Plymouth as well as the Birmingham season! (Sorry to go o/t).
If anyone has been at this afternoon's final performance I would love to hear about it!
Simply sublime Jan. The whole cast gave it their all and looked as though they were having a ball. Arancha Baselga was a delightful innocent thrilled with her new experiences. James Barton, as the Jack-in-the-Box and Yvette Knight as the Snow Fairy stood out for me and the whole Snow Scene was exceptional. But I had booked the extra performance to see Brandon Lawrence and Delia Mathews as Prince and SPF and they were everything that I had hoped and expected them to be. Think that Brandon could clear that stage in two strides ! I am limited in making technical judgements but the grace of their performances and emotion they conveyed in their pdd left me very emotional. I left on a high. This was the last performance and BRB did us proud.
