I saw 5 Soldiers in a space somewhere in Bloomsbury a number of years ago. From what I recall it had a mixed gender cast of 5 dressed in army-like fatigues and was danced in a square outlined on the ground as a stage. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It is not to do with the First World War. It is a piece based on experiences of present day soldiers.

I have a ticket for the Northern Ballet programme of 3 short ballets on Wednesday 1 Nov at 7.45 pm in the Linbury. It is a standing ticket for the back row of the circle. It is a good straight on view. The ticket cost £5.

The cast is O’Sullivan and McRae (though there is some speculation that McRae might be injured as he didn’t finish a performance last week and was subbed by Sambe. )

The ticket is for the Nagdhi/Ball cast of evening performance of Don Quixote on Saturday 14 October at 7pm. It is a very central SCS, D27, and cost £14.

I now can’t make the performance of the RBS Upper School in the Linbury at 7pm on Wed 21st June and so have a ticket looking for a home.
The ticket is D22 which is a standing spot at the left hand edge of the standing in the centre of the first circle. There is a pillar to the left but if you stand a tiny bit closer to D23 it does not impede the view of the stage (or so I found last week) and there is a good straight on view. The ticket was remarkably inexpensive at £3.

There is a piece by Akram Khan called Xenos which was created around the centenary of WW1. It is for a single dancer, Khan, and has specifically composed music. I saw at Sadler’s Wells and thought it was the most moving dance work I saw that year. I do not know if it was ever filmed but it was supposed to be the last piece that Khan ever made to be danced by himself so maybe.
