This popped up on my FB timeline this morning.  I believe LVBS has run boys' workshops before so worth keeping an eye out.

My son was invited to this after the ybs and had an amazing time. Steven mcrae was so kind and inspiring I would  highly recommend if it takes place again.

my son has been bullied due to his love of dance and if you follow Steven mcrea  or lvbs on instagram his post was amazing “bullies beware. Boys do ballet and we love it”. My son got so much from it 😊

  2. My child is 12 and for the Easter intensive we dropped off at 3.30 and had left by 4.15. We walked them to the boarding house and then said goodbye there as parents aren’t allowed in the houses due to safeguarding. We didn’t stay for the talk or anything. It was a very quick drop off for us.

  3. I had a call with manager as she had offered a phone call to explain stuff in the offer letter. It was really useful and informative and I got a good feel for it I think 🤞🤞. Think we have decided to go for it and give it a try 😬😬😊. and she said associate results work be out in next couple of weeks

My daughter had her in class audition yesterday. She was also really nervous. She said it was a lot harder than her usual ballet class, ‘more intense’ in her words, but that she really enjoyed it. She could definitely see a difference in her own abilities and the children who were already CAT students, but I assume they’re looking for kids they think they can catch up, and they must have seen something in them at the first auditions. But who knows. I hope your son does well, and enjoys himself :) there were 6 auditioning yesterday, and around 12 already in the class.

Thankyou for this. Yes my son is doing level 2/3 so I imagine some of them may have been dancing with northern ballet for quite a while so I imagine will

be much better as my son only does 1 ballet class a weeks at his local school. I guess he just has to try his best and see. I guess they know what they are looking for (whereas I know nothing about ballet!!🤣🤣) Good luck to your daughter. Hope she gets the news she wants

  5. My son auditioned for inter I think? He went on the 3rd and then back Sunday just gone for the recall. He said the second one was a bit harder than the first he thought. He enjoyed it though 😊

he said he made few mistakes so no idea if that matters.

our letters says will find out by the 12th April

  6. My dc has just been offered a place on the spring residential. Only applied last week as new to this and missed the deadline so expected to be wait listed at best. To those who have been before, did your dc enjoy it as it is a lot of money (for us) and want to be sure before we accept the place. Thanks

  7. Just wondered if most home schools are supportive of children being asked to audition else where for associates and cats etc

Was quite surprised at how negative and unencouraging my  child’s was and wondered if this was normal? Thanks

  8. This is a useful

thread. My son 12 has recently been spotted by northern ballet. He hasn’t danced for long, but absolutey loves it especially ballet. The open day was a bit intimidating/ overwhelming  as lots of the other dancers ( mostly girls) appeared to have been dancing since they were tiny. Good to hear that boys can start later and it doesn’t hold them back too much. I was a bit worried about applying to the auditions due to him not dancing for so long, but think having read these comments he will have a go 😊

  9. We are newish to dance world. We went along to see what it was all about and  our DC was spotted? We had an email on Monday encouraging to apply for cat. Any experiences  of norther ballet associate and CAT  would be appreciated as we are new to this dance world. DC is just turned 12. Thanks
