I agree I think it’s nice to share where you are cooking and eating, more sociable! I’m sure they will all make friends really quickly. I think my DD knows quite a few already.

Aww does she? I don’t think my dd knows anyone at the moment x

Thank you that’s interesting. A friend was in halls where the room has a bathroom and kitchenette and found it a bit lonely, so we are going to see if we can do a flat share type thing.

Yes I think my dd would get lonely but I know some rooms you can share. Also my dd is a little worried about making friends lol but someone mentioned they do a Facebook page so everyone can get to know people.

We have an offer just making a final decision. DD loved it there, such a nurturing environment. Has the accommodation list been released?

Hi sorry for the late response. Honestly dd absolutely loved it!! Accommodation list should be released in the next few weeks. Apparently a welcome pack gets sent out.

  4. Daughter had her audition on the 11th April and unfortunately didn’t get an interview. I’m gathering though this doesn’t mean she hasn’t been successful? I have to say though they emailed a feedback form for my daughter to complete about the college but she has to wait 3 weeks for an outcome.

I know that Urdang is rationalising their courses and only offering the degree next academic year. They are giving offers but they may be less in number than before. Recall is an option but I am not sure of how many have been offered places that way.

Does Urdang give a straight “yes” this year or is it a “no” or recall? I’ve heard of many recalls but not a single “yes” so am wondering if it’s simply a case of two rounds of auditions this year (if DD is lucky to get a recall it means a total cost goes up by yet another hotel stay in London 🙄 )

I know someone who got a yes from the audition.

That’s ultimately how my DD decided. Mine disliked Bird, walked out of her Laine audition……..loved GSA from the moment she arrived at her audition. Graduates this summer from GSA

Yeah my daughter the same. She auditioned for urdang and didn’t get the vibe lol and the same with LSC. My husband liked urdang I didn’t and I liked LSC he didn’t but I loved Wilkes and daughter did. She said it felt like home

She has offers for Bird, Laine, & Performers , and a recall next weekend for Urdang…… so whatever happens next weekend will mean she has to make a decision soon.
she knows which is her favourite at the moment, (a yes from  Urdang could change that though, ) but just want to make sure we’re not missing anything important!!

You know when my daughter auditioned I said you want to go to somewhere that feels homely and friendly. I’ve known people come out of Laine and bird and got no job but it just depends.

Hi- just wondered if anyone would be willing to share any insight, nuggets of wisdom, or lesser known info on the things to include in the pros & cons list……. we’re in the fortunate position of having a choice between colleges, but I can imagine there being a lot of fact wrangling in order to come up with ‘the one’, as they all seem amazing!! ……..
    Much appreciated!

Which schools do you need to chose from?

Oh 🤞🏼 maybe some news today! Did your DD audition at the other schools yet or are they still to come?

Hi no news yesterday but gathering letters can come on different days not the same day as everyone else if that makes sense lol xx

Out of interest as I’ve only experienced UCAS for Uni applications. For other institutions like Dance are the offers confirmed. Like an unconditional rather than the usual route where students have to wait for their A level results day to know for sure they have a place?  Thank you.

Yes on my daughters friends ucas it says offered a place. X

They do but please remember they are dealing with thousands of students. I appreciate its frustrating and I am sure those of us who have been through it remember it really well.

    I’m aware of the logistics

Sadly that means you are waiting for Ucas to push the button and that is completely unpredictable. I remember the course director at GSA saying in his talk that they inform UCAS as soon as they can but it can take days sometimes weeks for UCAS to let the applicants know.

🤦🏻‍♀️ Honestly they take there time xxx

Hi. I appreciate you are waiting for the envelope but as no one can rely on the postal service have you tried logging onto your DD’s UCAS account? My son who isn’t a dancer received his offers via UCAS before the emails arrived from the unis.
    🤞🏼

Thanks and well because I’m impatient lol I did call Wilkes and didn’t disclose my name lol. Apparently degree students get informed via ucas first and then some letters come out. Woman was lovely on the phone
