Thanks for this. So as previously mentioned looks like very little if any accommodation help with a DaDA. So from what I have read Tring are able to offer MDS, so presumably some have received a different funding audition letter??

As far as I am aware, the MDS is only for yr7 - 11 and DADA is for 6th form.   I don't think MDS funds are available for 6th form students.

From what I have been told, Tring can offer some 'assistance' with the accommodation fees to those in receipt of DADAs, but only in line with the maintenance funding on the link posted above - ie you'd need to be on less than £30,000 household income to get help.  They don't care about your outgoings  This may be old information, but that's what help they offered a friend of mine a few yrs ago.  I guess the best thing to do is contact them and ask if there is any doubt.

Thank you @Silversparkle I will see what I can glean after the event! I do know that the three days of first auditions are showing as fully booked on the website.

    How was Tuesday?
A friends daughter was there and said they had 2 lots in that day so guess lots auditioning if they have extra day as well.

hi! i don’t know if you’ve sorted it but even though the tring website says the auditions are full, i got offered an audition yesterday so it might be worth emailing them and asking if you haven’t already

sorry if this wasn’t any help xx

Thanks, I didn't know that was possible.  we have decided to do a video at as cheaper cost as possible for prelim and go visit IF she gets thru to finals.

Sorry can't answer any of your questions but DD will be at Tring on 24th Jan so though I'd post in solidarity!

Good luck with the auditions 🍀

Good luck to you too! Be interesting to hear how it goes and how many there are.

Have ENB sent out audition dates now? I’m having a hard time keeping up with all the different dates 🤯

The date was out before Xmas but only just had confirmation. No time allocation tho so don’t know how long we will be there for or what’s required at the audition. Getting bit close now

  6. Hi, cant find much on here for the up and coming auditions so thought it would be good (for me at least lol) to start a generic one.

my questions to those with prev exp...

ENBS - how many get invited to pre lims and then go on to make final round?  How long do results take? DD is on 23rd and her friend is on 19th - wondering if we need to wait for all pre lims to complete and then wait some more?

Rambert - how many make it thru to recall? how many in the actual yr group starting in Sept?

Tring - how many spaces on the dance course (not talking about funding spaces) as they seem to have so many courses running now compared to when auditioning in yr6 i'm thinking of boarding places too.

Good luck to everyone auditioning - i'm sure you were all much more chatty in yr6 when i wasnt even brave enough to have an account

Hi there, i have a Glasgow audition, I was offered 14th jan, but my daughter has a prelim that day so she has been offered 21st jan as an alternative, just thought I would let you know! I would e mail and ask what dates they have?
we are in Glasgow so this is one of the only auditions we have at home 😂. We have done a fair few before Xmas in London.

thats really helpful thank you. they offered us 14th over the weekend but she has a dance exam (and its very short notice), so good to know i can go back with another request :)

If you don't know the city or area, may be worth going to Glasgow to get a feel for the place and see the studios etc.

It's an impressive set up but in many ways the complete opposite of Tring - (16+ environment, urban setting ..) and consider which would suit your DC more.

Appreciate it's yet more cost but cheaper than a regretted decision.

Yes that’s what we were thinking too.
I love Glasgow itself but then I’m a city girl lol

Not been able to find out what dates the Glasgow ones are yet tho.

  9. So seems many people finally heard from RCS today, only to be told that the audition date in London is on the same day of Tring dance course audition.

Options I guess are to chose to only do one which seems a huge waste of money, or invest more money and then go to Glasgow to do the audition (but dates aren’t available yet to my knowledge) or pay out for studio hire and teacher, to do a video audition.

Anyone else in same predicament/got any advice?

  10. Hi all,

can’t find any thread related to 6th form auditions so thought I post a quick question instead of just reading

DD did her Northern Ballet school audition today but forgot to ask how long until results are out.

Before I contact them, does anyone know what to expect? Also as they did interviews and solos, I’m guessing they don’t do finals but she didn’t ask and they didn’t say.

     Thanks in advance

  11. We have also been looking at post GCSE options.

So far bar, the obvious ones, I have just googled dance / ballet courses in the areas where we have family and not really come up with much.

Does anyone know anything about this college? DD could stay with family to go here (or at least have family nearby), but the course titles don't seem to match the ones listed above.

Courses Overview – Kingsclere Performing Arts College (kings-pa.uk)

    TIA!
