  1. Congratulations to those who got a place, irrespective of which company. I think they are both lovely experiences. LCB is a charity and they do tremendous work to bring ballet into all communities around London and I think it is great for the touring companies to be part of that. There's something to learn from every opportunity and the silver lining is also that the rehearsals are not that intense. My daughter is having to give up a lot to be in the main company and it may well be for just a very small part.

My DD was also offered touring company and as you @RemiM although she knows how high the standard was and is def grateful for the place, she was also slightly disappointed. I do wonder if the majority of main company places went to those who did it last year, especially as @BallerinaMum13 mentioned they were still currently active with the gala this week. Either way, touring company is still a great achivement and I am sure will be a great opportunity.

In terms of waitlist, I suspect there will be very little movement on main company, but I wouldn't be surprised if slots open up for touring. It's quite a different offering to the main and I didn't realise there was a cost for this as well which may not suit all....

My daughter did not get a place at all last year (she made it to the finals) but she did get a main company place this year. Just giving this as an example to show that they did offer places who children who were not in either of the companies in the past.

  3. Does anyone know if choosing the non-boarding option for RBS SI has an impact on admission? My daughter would only be 10 yrs old and we live in London so she can just be a day student. I see the option is offered. Just don't know if this might put her at a disadvantage (the cost is also lower).

Hope it’s ok to post this here - For sale - two new style JA leotards and belts in very good condition with no marks or damage- age 7-8 and 9-10. These are last years model so come up large - the 7-8 fit my 11 year old petite dancer perfectly (she’s 140cm). Also character skirt in very good condition,

waist 52cm, length 47cm. Happy to sell whole bundle for £30 including postage or separately if preferred at £10 per leotard and £15 for the skirt. Message me for photos.

Are the leotards still available please?

Hi not sure if this is the right place to post but I’m hoping someone can help - I have just got the dates through for royal ballet online junior associates and noticed there are quite a few clashes with Ballet boost which my daughter has also been accepted to start in September. Which one would you go for and why? I’m just trying to weigh up what is best and am a complete newbie to this auditioning! She also got into Elmhurst young dancers but we don’t have a clash there so that one is ok. Thanks!

My daughter opted to not do the online JA in Year 4. She prioritized an in person class at her normal dance school. She got into RBS as a Year 5 JA. One of her friends did the same. Some people advised us to do the online class to increase her chances for an eventual place but despite not doing that, she still got in. She also has a friend who did the online, but did not get a place subsequently. So this all varies.
