Yay! Great news for your DC. Al though we had managed to resign ourselves that there wouldn't be any more spaces now! Wish they did an online programme for reserves like RBS do

Well keep checking your emails - you never know . Yes an online course for reserves would be a great idea . Fingers crossed for your DC

Yes my dd did JA for Royal and northern before moving to JA Royal and northern CAT. as someone else said, we chose to take both places while preparing for possibly going into vocational school. Plus for us, the local classes needed that extra boost.

Northern are very accommodating of children fitting their classes around Royal, they were encouraging of it.

Thanks for that info . I still think it’s a shame that some get children get the opportunity for 2 such associate schemes and others are then on the reserves lists. ( as I said before I do not doubt that these dancers are brilliant- but do they really need 2 associate schemes plus their normal classes ? )

It Seems an awful lot . My daughter absolutely wants this as a profession so I am completely aware of giving them opportunities, but this amount of dancing can surely lead to burn-out and or injury . X

I guess until everyone has accepted or declined their places they won't know how many spare spots they have? Royal have said June for their results which is a bit annoying as I guess some will pick that if they are offered a place (though could do both I suppose)

Do you think many children do both Royal and Northern associates? Seems a bit much to me along with their usual dance classes. If so, then it's a shame that they get the opportunity for training with 2 Associate schemes when there are plenty of children on waiting lists who would love the chance of attending 1.

Not that I am taking anything away from dancers who have been lucky enough to be offered more than one place ( they are clearly very talented ) x

No idea, but when my DD was a reserve for IF 4 years ago a place did come up. This year I believe all current associates have been given a place for next year. I can understand why - telling a student they haven't met the grade after all the restrictions of dancing under lockdown would be really harsh. But like last year, this means new places are probably quite limited.

Hi - thanks for that. Yes it would be harsh to drop current dancers when they have not had chance to attend due to Covid. It's just a waiting game then to see if an elusive place comes up ! x

@CRH My Dd is an intermediate associate. There are about 30 in a class of roughly 2 year groups (seniors Y10-11 ). Last year nobody was asked to leave the programme out of fairness because of Covid but this year assessments (of a sort) are going ahead at the end of April so I think you can assume there'll be a small number of spaces in all classes.

Thanks for the info . Yes I thought as much .probably very very few places 😬.
I wonder how many new applicants they have had . Let’s face it filming a video is a bit more of a faff than popping along to a live audition ... maybe it’s put a few off applying ( fingers crossed !)
