  1. I guess we might hear today? Is there still hope for a yes if some of the ones who were on the same day (although earlier groups) heard yesterday? I have no idea about these things!!

My DD says 'everyone' expected her to get in and there's so much pressure. I told her it's quite the opposite, with the number of kids applying the chances were slim for a call back and it doesn't mean she's not a good dancer. She's a bit of an all rounder and if I'm honest, i would prefer to see if we can go to a vocational school that offers dance and theatre arts at some point, but ballet is her dream so we have gone with that this time ;) I hate the thought of her going away so young, although the mood she was in this morning......!!!:D

    Good luck all :)

  2. I can't imagine we will hear tonight now :( Wonder how on earth they choose how to send the emails? Yes first for one audition location followed by nos then same for each? I have no idea. I haven't heard any nos for the London WL audition., unless someone else has? Ah well, keep hanging in there everyone!!x

  3. What group was your DD in Dancer 123? Sorry just assuming the worst as not heard anything. Anyone know if 'yes' comes out first and if results have stopped for the day?! xx

Scooby, great news for your DD. My DD did their summer school and loved Elmhurst!!xx

  4. Sorry Nicola. Hope your DD is ok and will try again.

I am literally nauseous with the waiting!!  My DD was at London on 28th Jan so I guess we will have a bit longer to wait. I know it's a 'no' or at least I'm convincing myself that it will be as she's an outsider, not a JA and they must have some advantage? Anyway, well done to those who have heard, commiserations to those who didn't get the news they hoped for and toes crossed for everyone waiting :)

  5. Hi,

I sent my daughter's application just under 2 weeks ago as they told me to send it (she wont be 11 till 28th Sept but was told to still submit application). I havent heard anything, has everyone heard now? I'm expecting a no but would be nice to know either way. I have called but left a message. Thank you!

  6. I agree, there is nothing wrong with doing a warm up in your own way. We got there and there were loads of kids warming up hence my dd and her friends (in the red!) did some general warm ups. They probably felt a bit intimidated and werent really sure what warm ups to do . Before my daughter did the splits - i know people have their own opinions of whether it should form part of a warm up - she had done the leg warm ups for them. There is no right or wrong just what works for your child. If a child feels warmed up and more flexible doing it that way so be it. She did plenty of chatting and drinking (although was too nervous to eat) and as some have said, what you see in the waiting room bears no resemblance on what happens in the audition room. It is what it is.

We were scanning the room looking at the different auditionees but at the end of the day, none of us know what goes on inside the actual room.

The main thing I took from it was not to worry what others were doing and that my dd LOVED the whole experience and came out with such a huge smile. That to me was everything. :)

  7. Hi new123,

Just to say, my daughter was at the CBA audition yesterday and was in a red leotard, along with 2 others in group 2! Don't worry, they were only stretching and warming up, as they do for comps (very limited experience!) and as they have been told to do for anything really. Honestly they were just winging it and there had been a few others limbering up as we arrived, so we probably felt a little the same as you!

Please don't let your daughter be put off by them or anyone else (easy to say I know!), they were just doing what they'd also seen others doing. The panel, as I am aware, were looking for potential so it doesn't matter how bendy or whatever, if they haven't got what the panel were looking for it means nothing I guess :)

I just didn't want your little one to fret unnecessarily. I bet she did great!

Did she enjoy the class? My daughter (one of the taller of the red leotards - ha ha - with dark hair, number 4) absolutely loved it and while she would be gutted not to get picked, the reality is that most won't and it's a fantastic experience anyway!

I'm sure your daughter did really well. Just don't be put off by anyone else. That said, i was casting my eye round the room, sussing everyone out, I think we all do!!

Good luck. I feel sick waiting!! We will definitely apply again if she doesn't get in as she loved it so much!
