  1. She is 16 . I am trying to help her but she just thinks im moaning. She does dance 4 nights a week and all day Saturday so maybe she is doing enough. Her teacher does tell her she needs to work on her flexibility for Sept. Its not bad but needs to be better.

  2. My dd is also 16 and does not seem bothered to live away from home. I think it has made it easier as she is an assoicate their so is comfortable with everything. Good idea on the cooking and laundrey lessons must start that.

    How exciting for them.

  3. Companies. My daughter will be starting her 3 year training from September and she has not got the typical ballet figure. She lacks leg length thats all. Her ballet teacher keeps telling me she should dance in the US as they are not as fussy with shape.

  4. Is anybody's dd or ds going to BTUK in Sept.

Are you just waiting on Tring Flexible Fred or has dd got a place somewhere else.

I know 2 girls last year that were notified on places for Tring in the June.

I bet its a nightmare for the schools having to keep shuffling places around.

  5. My dd is an Elmhurst associate and auditioned this year for year 12 and did not make it to finals when we asked her associate teacher for some feed back she said she has beautiful technique but is just the wrong shape.

This has really knocked my daughters confidence in taking her training further.

Such a shame they have to be so blunt my dd is a size 4-6 and now feels like a elephant.

  6. HI,

Just wondered if anyone has had any experience with KS Dance in Warrington as my daughter has been offered a place on the Dancers Course for September, she had auditioned for the Classical Course.

    Any info would be great.

    :)

  7. HI ,

Just wondered if anyone could enlighten me and a few other dance moms on when auditioning or taking exams if technique comes first or flexibility .  Our local RAD dance teacher seems to concentrate on the girls within the class with  hypermobility and wants everyone else to achieve the same flexibility and yet other teachers they have want technique base dancers and not bothered about how high their legs go.

It is so confusing on what big dance schools are looking for and worries some dancers who have strong technique but are not hypermobile .
