Well done. No funding for us but an offer of a place if we can afford to pay for it. Is this the standard let you down gently letter or are these places limited too?

    Just wondering.

Hi Scottishballetmum congratulations to you dd, may I ask were you also offered a bed and what year has she been offered?

my dd has also been offered a day place for year 8 without funding but we are on a waiting list for a bed.  We do not live close enough for a day place so still not sure if she will be able to accept?!?! So frustrating 😩🤔🤗

  2.

I will ask my pupil, she was year 6 JA last year but I don't think she had Miss Howarth.

If no one come back with anymore info I would do a shopping list of technique she would like to fix and then speak to Miss Howarth and explain that although she didn't understand the homework she has had a guess and done a list of things she wants to improve. It's a useful task anyway as it gives your dd some goals and she has shown willing.

Ps if it's the Miss Howarth I'm thinking of, she is lovely she was my course mentor when I was 16

Thank you so much Bluebird22 I really appreciate your advise ????

  3. Hi all,

Desperate for some advise, my dd is in y6 Elmhurst associate with Miss Howarth's and was asked last week to make a shopping list for this weeks class but as she was not on last years course she no idea what it is she should be doing? Is it a list of technique she would like to have, corrections she would like to fix, ingredients for a lasagne? Help please if anybody knows she's a little stressed to say the least! ????

Hi there ballet'n'broke! Lets look out for each other next week as dd is also in Year 6-see above! Lovely that she enjoyed the classes!

I would love that balletmummy but I teach on a Saturday's so my hubby will be dedicating his Saturday's to ballet, eek hope he doesn't get too grumpy with the hanging around ???? I'm hoping to get the last week off work so I can watch the end of term session, I'll be the stranger nobody has seen before who has no idea where I should be lol ????????????

  5. Just heard here - and... it's a 'no' ... Oh well, there's always MAs next year! Congratulations to all those who got a 'yes' ! Phew, glad that wait is over. Now to tell dd...

Hugs to your daughter, I'll probably see you there with my DD! ????

  6. Bath results are out now. I've heard of 3 nos, 1 SWL. My DD has a yes, so we now have a decision to make between JAs and Elmhurst - it's not going to be easy!!

Congratulations Twinklesmum, what a fabulous position to be in ????

  7. Hope London waits until the end of next week - my dd has her ballet exam on Monday and it would be nice to get beyond that first before getting a 'no' from JAs!

Oooo good luck for the ballet exam ???? ????

  10. Congratulations to everyone with a yes and I'm sorry to those who received a not this time...

I would strongly recommend trying again if your DC enjoyed it, my dd auditioned just last November and received a bog standard no, she wanted to try again and so went back to her studio and continued to work hard but with a goal in mind and cried this morning when she received her letter offering her a place. A lot can happen between auditions, the children all change and improve at different rates and I'm a strong believer that the audition process itself has a lot to teach the children. Ballet love ????

  11. Hi folks, does anyone know of any good dance schools in the Norwich area, or within reasonable distance please?

I'm asking on behalf of a relocating friend of a friend (with a dd age 12) who is trying to find a school with good all-round dance training and preferably one with experience in getting students into associate programmes, and into vocational dance/performing arts schools.

PM me if you prefer, many thanks.

Hello, I'm currently a teacher at Busybodies Stage School in Dereham 20 mins drive from Norwich. We currently have students at central ballet associate course and Elmhurst associates and students currently studying full time at Laine Theatre Arts college, we also have two girls performing with the London Children's Ballet this year. We are a small school but have an excellent examination record, all of which are posted on the website www.busybodiesstageschool.com

    ????

  12. Arrgh, not heard yet ???? Either way I think everyone did amazing job getting as far as they did and I have to say be it a yes or a no the audition process held by LCB was such a positive and welcoming experience my dd has gained so much confidence we both class the whole event as a win win for us!!! (Excluding the excruitating wait) ????
