Glad to read that NDT is still going strong. I saw an amazing performance of theirs twenty years ago which I can still vividly remember.

I've seen at least a couple of operas performed as ballet, Carmen and Madame Butterfly, and I know there are a few more. I can't think of an example the other way round though where a ballet has been turned into an opera. Whilst I'm at it, are there any operas, musicals, films etc that anyone would really be keen to see performed as a ballet?

When visiting a theatre what are your basic requirements? For me there's only one thing, and that's comfortable seating. I'm 6ft 3ins tall and need a lot of leg-room and so always book early to get an aisle seat, or somewhere else I can stretch my legs. Of course this means I don't get the best view or acoustics, and it might be quite draughty where I'm sitting, but needs be. I regularly visit the theatres in South and West Yorkshire and am always able to get somewhere appropriate, whether at the old Victorian theatres, the modern theatres...or the various other venues.

What are your preferences and priorities? 

I loved it; especially the duet with Martha and Toby at the end of the first act - very athletic. I see pretty much everything Northern Ballet does.

I went to see '!9084' by Northern Ballet at the Lyceum Theatre at Sheffield; pretty much a full house watched in silence and cheered and whooped loudly at the end. I didn't see any children though.
