  1. My DD is currently in Year 8 at WL, but following assessments has not been offered a place for Year 9. I am so upset and ashamed that it has taken until now to tell people. They are full of sweet comments, telling me that DD will get a place somewhere else. DD is heartbroken, but trying to be brave and has auditioned for several other vocational schools, all of which have given us a No. I haven’t the heart to tell her and now do not know what to do. She’s so distraught by all of this that she doesn’t know if she wants to finish her last term at WL after the Easter break.

Our options as as it stands appear to be sending her to the local senior school and going back to her old dance school or sending her to the local senior school and trying to get her a place at a purely Ballet oriented dance school slightly further afield.

  2. My DD has fairly narrow feet. We get Starlite Studio satins and they are a beautiful fit. They do leather full or split soles and they are a lovely fit on a narrow foot. Not all dance shops stock these but I've found one locally to me that does or I can usually get them on eBay.

I can let you know the shop details if you want to try them. The lady who fits them is fab and well worth trying.

  3. My DD (9) has applied to audition for LCB this year. I'm really hoping the audition will be in the afternoon as her ballet teacher has now put her forward to take part in the ISTD Junior Ballet Awards on the same day. I now she'll be doing that in the morning, but will have to wait and see if she can now audition. A friend of DD was in Snow White earlier this year and loved it.

  4. My DD loved her first class today. She can't wait to go back but is not happy that she has to wait a fortnight. She's a small age 9 but we got her a 9-11 and that is roomy but will last her a little while. £20 for the hoodie, which I thought was really good. My DD met a lovely little girl who she did her partner work with and is looking forward to seeing her again. DD said it was her first time doing CBA too.

  5. My DD got a SWL, so fingers crossed a place becomes available. She's done so well so far this year, getting into Tring CBA, ENBS Juniors, placing her ballet solo at festivals and doing it at All England Regionals. She's also been asked to take part in the ISTD Ballet Awards in October, so she's on the right track.

  6. Thank you everyone. I popped into her school to tell her and she was ecstatic. She has a private lesson with her ballet teacher after school, so I looking forward to giving her the news. She pushed DD to go for it in the first place.

Tell your DD well done PetalViolet.
