Hi, do you have connections with people there to know that none got a place last year? All we can do is support our children and try to let them follow their dreams. Hopefully some children will be lucky, good luck to all those involved.

That could well be the case but we were definitely told there was a couple of places at our audition, if not it seems pointless sending anyone to the finals surely?

We got told there were only a couple of places for y8 at the audition we went to, for all the children auditioning at all the different places it must be incredible to get offered one. My daughter is realistic and knows deep down what the outcome will be but I love the hint of optimism she sometimes has and tells me, well someone has to get them!

Hopefully it will be any day, don't think they will delay it again just because other auditions are happening now too?

How many do they tend to invite for the finals at White lodge and do they do it in year groups? Thanks

Last month I met Craig at the Shepshed festival when I danced in the junior international ballet championship which was a qualifying heat, the winner of which dances at the miss dance of great Britain finals in blackpool next month. He was very nice and stayed focussed for all 26 dancers. However, we did have to wait a very long time for him to make his decision,a good 5 minutes at least!  competition was tough and it is always difficult to know how they pick dancers. Some like lots of content, others like to make sure that the basic are secured first. its important never to run off the stage if you forget your routine, remember the judge doesn't know your dance. Just try your best and don't worry if you don't always get place, enjoy your time on the stage, read your reports and try to improve on the comments they make

hi, I wondered if anyone had any experience of the international ballet championships at blackpool please? my daughter won one of the qualifying heats so will be dancing in june, any insight would be appreciated or knowledge of the judges? thanks

thank you spannerandpony, I will pass that on to my daughter, she is excited to start, not long really. rainbowmagic, my daughter loved the experience too last year and was desperate to do again this year along with my other daughter. it is expensive but well worth it, fortunately my younger daughter was awarded the scholarship this time  so that has helped a great deal!

hi dancing10, I did Coppelia last year in York, all the parts are good and everyone gets an equal turn to be on stage.

Could anyone please tell me what parts a 10 year old may get for the nutcracker at nottingham? thanks
