Livestream watch party time! The Vienna State Ballet is livestreaming its performance of John Neumeier's iconic production of The Lady of the Camellias (inspired by the same novel as Ashton's Marguerite and Armand, but a full length ballet with more key characters). Using a gorgeous compilation of Chopin's glorious concertos and other compositions, with stunning designs by Jurgen Rose (who designed so many gorgeous Cranko ballets), this Livestream is a treat for those of us who can't physically attend a performance of this masterpiece in person. There are lots of key characters (synopsis and casting on Wiener Staatsoper website, but I can mention that the expressive and unforgettable principal ballerina Ketevan Papava dances Marguerite, and Timoor Afshar dances Armand. It's very easy to sign up- even a Luddite like me managed it. It's free and doesn't require a hundred personal details. If you missed the beginning you can restart to watch from the beginning. (And skip over intervals or rewatch bits you like!) I believe it's available for at least 24 hours (possibly 3 days?) Comments, thoughts, reactions, swooning (haha), reviews welcome.

I may be going for a long weekend to Vienna, in November, and if so will try to book tickets for a triple bill on November 6th. https://www.wiener-staatsoper.at/en/season-tickets/detail/event/967926754-macmillan-mcgregor-ashton/ Does anyone have any tips on seats, best way to book? And any restaurant recommendations would also be welcome! Thank you Graham
