Associate Programme (ages 11+) at Chantry Dance Company accepting applications

Recommended Posts

Chantry Dance Company’s Associate Programme is for young dancers of a pre-vocational or pre-professional level, who aspire to a career in dance.

CDC Associates are taught to develop a strong technical base in ballet, contemporary and improvisation, as well as learning repertoire from major 20th and 21st century contemporary works. But the unique aspect of the programme is that students also learn CDC’s specific contemporary ballet style through working directly with the company’s co-Artistic Directors, Rae Piper and Paul Chantry, who are both international choreographers and performers having worked at venues including Sadler’s Wells, The Royal Opera House, Teatro Dell’Opera Di Roma and London’s West End.

Students also are given the opportunity to take masterclasses with some of the UK’s leading contemporary dancers. This year’s guest teachers have included:

Dominic North (Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures)

Alessia Lugoboni (Royal New Zealand Ballet & CDC)

Ian Parsons (Ballet de Monte Carlo)

David Beer (Burklyn Ballet & CDC)

CDC Associates have gone on to gain places at vocational schools including:

Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance

Trinity Laban

Laines School of Theatre Arts
