taxi4ballet
Hi all, dd is trying to find a clip of Christopher Bruce's Swansong as she has her gcse paper tomorrow and wants to watch the whole thing. She's tried loads of searches and can only find short excerpts and clips of about 1 minute. HELP!!!! Please, quick!
Jan McNulty
There are various clips on this FB page if you search through: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Swansong-by-Christopher-Bruce-and-other-Classics/291782609881?fref=ts I know it's too late but there is also a dvd available from Amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Christopher-Bruces-Triple-Bill-DVD/dp/B000FII18U/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1434039273&sr=8-1&keywords=swansong+christopher+bruce+dvd

taxi4ballet
Yes, thank you, but she says they cut in after the beginning.
aileen
Well, with or without seeing the whole ballet I hope that your DD's exam goes well tomorrow.
swanprincess
If I remember rightly from GCSE, she won't need to know the whole ballet inside-out, if she knows one section particularly well, she should be able to write about that in the exam. But she will need to know the names of the set, lighting, costume designers etc! Good luck x
taxi4ballet
Thank you, she has her last exams tomorrow and that's it - she will be a school-leaver... where did the time go?!!

Nutcracker-x
Hi, Only in year 10 but have just started looking at the written paper in class. My teacher has said that we only need to know the choreographer, lighting, costumes etc and not the actual dance as what you have to do for one of our practical pieces. Good luck to your DD!! ❤️
aileen
I think that the whole of the first section, featuring the original cast, is on YouTube. If you trawl around the web there is a fair amount of background information about this ballet.

taxi4ballet
I think that the whole of the first section, featuring the original cast, is on YouTube. Yes, it is, somewhere... we've found it before but she couldn't find it today! She was going through past papers this afternoon and wanted to watch it to refresh her memory as it must be months since they watched it in class. Thanks for you speedy assistance folks

2dancersmum
Mine has statistics too next week though she is not year 11. It is her only GCSE this year and typically it clashes with her sister's graduation ceremony (which happens to fall on her birthday).
