porthesia
Since her MRI scan the consultant has ignored the misaligned healed broken bone and concentrated on a believed Morton's neuroma which has been treated with a steroid injection. DD returned to see consultant today (saw different person) who as the pain has not gone away has not given another injection which dd was hoping for so she could at least finish the year dancing. Surgery seems to be the option. She graduates in three weeks. So we are now going to have to wait whilst she re-registers back here and then wait for the NHS to schedule surgery. She will be retired before she gets a chance to dance. Rant over
Pas de Quatre
http://www.nidms.co.uk/ Is your DD going via National Institute of Dance Medicine and Science or "normal" NHS. Do explore this site and see if they are appropriate. You still have to wait, but I believe it is faster than regular NHS.
porthesia
Do you have to be referred by your GP for this or can you go direct?
Pas de Quatre
You just need a letter from your GP - it explains it on the website somewhere.

porthesia
Only wish I had some hair to tear out, it's gone very thin! I have felt so helpless today but have contacted our GP and am registering her as a temporary resident and this will mean she is on the list when she has to re-register so a little time saved.

Harwel
How very distressing for you all. I really feel for your dd, so frustrating and upsetting. Hope she gets to correct treatment soon.
sarahw
I'm so sorry Porthesia - how awful for you all. As your dd is at such a high level it seems worth going to a specialist dance clinic even though it's more hassle. Thinking about you all.
