Just 2 days left to watch "The Lost Honour of Christopher Jeffries".

Don`t know if people saw it on ITV, or are even interested. It`s the story, brilliantly acted about the man ,Christopher Jeffries, who was crucified by the media and wrongly accused of the murder of Bristol woman,Joanne Yeates, simply because he was "different" and "eccentric". When it was shown on ITV a couple of nights ago over two evenings, the actor`s Twitter was going beserk, everybody congratulating him on his brilliant acting of the part of the landlord. Anyway, there are two days left to watch it on ITV Player .Surely a BAFTA -winning drama. One of the best things I have seen on TV for a long time.

I heard something about this on the radio and the actor who plays Christopher Jeffries sounds remarkably like him. I know Christopher Jeffries was pleased with his portrayal and with the programme generally though as always with these dramas some licence has been taken but he said it was a more or less accurate account of what happened.

I remember it at the time and how awful the media were to him just deciding he was guilty with the sparsest of evidence.

Thank goodness the police did get the right man in the end but it's a classic lesson in not judging by appearances and "gut feelings"

I have to say that this one does not appeal to me.  I know he got crucified by the media and that should not have happened.  Lessons should be learned from it for sure.  But for me personally it just sits a little uncomfortably that the real victims here are the murdered girl and her family.  It is less than 4 years since she was murdered and approaching the anniversary of her death so a really difficult time of year for them and now people are making money of it.  Mr Jeffries sold his story and he sued and received a considerable sum in compensation and even back then was in talks for this drama.  It just seems too soon to me for this story to be told

You have a valid point,of course,2dancers. There WERE a lot of people on Twitter that night saying,What about the woman`s story? Of course, she and her family are the true victims and should never ever be forgotten. But he was a victim too,and I suppose you don`t often get to see the impact being wrongly accused of something has on someone`s life.

I don't know whether he is in touch with the murdered girls family perhaps he has liaised with them over this?

Is there ever a right time to make a programme like this about such a traumatic event though?

Would ten years be enough time?

Not in any of the relatives lifetimes?

I do think this man deserves to have his story told and he could always give some of the proceeds to Charity.

I agree the man deserves to have his story told - and I believe the family gave consent but did not wish to be involved at all. But it is practically the anniversary of her disappearance so the timing is rather insensitive and as I said - still less than 4 years ago and at Christmas too. Their grief must be still pretty raw and especially at this time of year.

Delighted, but hardly surprised, that actor Jason Watkins last night won the BAFTA award for best actor in the true life drama,The Lost Honour of Christopher Jeffries. Well done to him. An outstanding portrayal.
