New made-to-order pointe shoes

Hi all, I was wondering whether anyone knows whether it makes sense to let newly-made-to-order pointe shoes dry for a while before wearing them.

 

If they've just come straight from the factory, do they need time for everything to harden and dry out a bit more?

Interesting question! Probably best answered by the shop.

 

If it helps though, my dd's Freeds are special order - they get darned and prepared as normal, then broken in and worn. We haven't noticed any difference between them and shop stock shoes in terms of durability, hardness etc.
