Pulled Ab Muscle :( please help

Hello, i was practicing my scorpions the other day and I believe i may have pushed my body to far as I think I have pulled a abdominal muscle down my lower right side, as it hurts when I tense my abs and is slightly swollen. Does anyone have any tips to help me as I have my RAD intermediate exam in a few days.

Just check it isn't something more sinister. Like a sore appendix (no wish to worry you but is worth checking) I suggest see a GP and if no joy see a Physio. Rest and rub arnica cream on the area and take arnica capsules. Best wishes :)

With medical hat on I would say a hernia is a possibility but unlikely- assuming you are one of the 'young' posters. But worth seeing your GP to exclude it.

 

If there are no other symptoms then rest abs and ice. You have the strength for the exam already and won't lose it witb a few days rest. Keep stretching elsewhere and gentle abs stretches to reduce stiffness in the injured area - maybe cat and child stretches??
