Dance*is*life
Judging by the Corsaire clip, I should think she'd have no problem dancing a male variation!!!! She'd probably out jump most of them! I agree that what's so incredible is that she has such speed as well as huge jumps - they don't always go together. I presume it's because she's quite short - 5ft 2in. However brilliant tall ballerinas are, it's harder to do be speedy with long legs! Here's an interview with her which explains it a little - http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/theatre/dance/10662694/Natalia-Osipova-I-have-never-lost-the-feeling-of-flying.html
Buddy
I have dozens of most favorite videos. This is certainly one. This is perhaps the most beautiful non ballet dancing that I've seen.
swanprincess
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=bQ0L24YbGGI This Anaheim Ballet clip is particularly beautiful, I've found that its a good one to watch for a sense of calm & focus just before auditions! Balletomanewithoutacause
I was searching for variations to teach in senior pointe class and came across this. I just sat there stunned - she hovers in the air! It's of Natalia Osipova in Le Corsaire. Amazing! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zLNW3aioL1w Wait, wait! This isn't Le Corsaire, it's the Gamzatti variation from La Bayadere!
thewinelake
I'm rather fond of this one...
Dance*is*life
It's absolutely wierd Lexy, the youtube clip clearly says that it's the Le Corsaire variation and coda, but I have also seen it as coming from La Bayadere. Apparently they use the same music for both ballets, pretty much the same choreography too, although I have seen it starting with a high developpe releve rather than the grande cabriole. https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20130318115331AA5Ad5G This answers it.
