Picturesinthefirelight
Bumped into a mum from dds old dance school today. Her dd is fairly sure she's going to do a level 3 Btec locally at 16 (run in conjunction with the locsl FE college & a large local dance school) alongside her contemporary CAT but would be interested to know which schools do take at 16 just to consider options. 2dancersmum
I think Millenium is the same as most of the MT/dance colleges in that it offers a course in professional dance which includes contemporary alongside ballet, jazz, tap (singing/acting?) etc rather than having a contemporary bias. Rambert is ballet and contemporary but other than that most places offering contemporary dance courses are from 18 - Northern Contemporary, Laban, London Contemporary etc As far as I am aware that is. along for the ride mum
There we are, I knew someone would know a lot me than me on this subject - hence the question mark. Thanks 2dancersmum. A girl from dd's old dance school has just accepted a place there for September and she is 16, I asked her if she had funding and she said yes, I know nothing about the balance or focus of the course though Edited April 30, 2014 by along for the ride mum
Picturesinthefirelight
So it seems that her original plan to try & audition at 18 is the better option. She's interested in a performing or teaching career apparently. Her ballet standard is high & she also studies modern, tap etc.
