Guest
Does anybody else get bunions that hurt. Mine don't bother me when I'm dancing it's only when I'm not that they begin to hurt, especially when I'm in school. Does anybody have any suggestions of what I could do? Circe
Hi anaballerina- There was a discussion quite recently that may be a good starting point, search for 'bunions'.

Guest
Thank you all, I put some ibuprofen gel on last night an it has been a bit less painful in school today:)
Anna C
Do you wear gel toe spacers at all, anaballerina? My dd wears them in all her shoes - street and ballet - and they make a big difference in terms of reducing pain. I'd also check the fit and style of your school shoes. :-)
sherazade
I have bunions, and whenever I wear toe spacers in my soft ballet shoes or in my pointe shoes, my toes hurt and become numb instead. Plus my toe spacers don't seem wide enough to keep my big toes straight in the shoes. :/ So now I don't bother wearing, which I know is not very good for my bunions.. Anna C
Did you get your pointe shoes fitted while wearing toe spacers, sherazade? If not, and if you've added toe spacers in later, your toes could be getting squashed. Can you get them checked by a good pointe shoe fitter, with and without the toe spacers? sherazade
Hi spannerandpony, I think I will do that when I go to London in July. There aren't many professional pointe shoe fitters here..
