johnross
The National Youth Dance Company performed a couple of energetic dances, The Rashomon Effect and Vertical Road, inspired and directed by Akram Khan with a bit of Dust thrown in. Quite impresive. NYDC in Vertical Road NYDC in The Rashomon Effect More pictures on www.johnrossballetgallery.co.uk

alison
Thanks for that, John. I might take a look if I'm in the area.
alison
Or even if I wasn't, as it happened, despite Southern's best efforts to prevent me from getting there. The entire performance lasts about 50 minutes, and is worth taking in if you're around at the time.
Shade
I was there - with my family. We were very impressed with both the dancers and the musicians from the NYO. We stayed to hear their compositions. What a lovely afternoon at the Southbank in the sunshine. I must say that the Southbank is a very inviting venue - lots of people were there. Very different to Covent Garden!
