alison Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Southeastern are announcing that as of 8 pm this evening they will be running a blanket 40 mph speed limit on their entire network because of poor weather, and this may apply to Saturday too. Either way, it will lead to considerable disruption. Considering what a mess their services appear to have been in this morning, I suspect anyone unfortunate enough to have to travel with them is likely to experience disruption rather earlier than 8 pm, too, so you might want to bear that in mind if you're coming into London either this evening or tomorrow (bearing in mind the very early-start matinee at the ROH).
alison Posted January 31, 2014 Author Posted January 31, 2014 More detailed info from their website: "Weather Warning - Friday 31 January Weather Warning - Friday 31 January Severe weather including heavy rain and high winds is forecast for Friday evening. As a safety precaution, Network Rail will put in place a 40mph speed restriction across parts of the Southeastern network from 20:00 on Friday evening. Because of this, trains on Friday night until the close of service may be disrupted. Network Rail will need to confirm that the routes are clear of trees & floods and therefore disruption is possible on Saturday morning as well.
