Picturesinthefirelight
Thinking of everyone there - must have been terrifying. Really brings it home the age of some of these London theatres Also huge kudos to the Front of House staff, not only at The Apollo but next door at Queens. Having worked FOH you hope a serious incident never happens
LinMM
Have just heard this on the car radio on the way back from Brighton. Sounds horrific. Luckily and amazingly only a very few people seriously hurt but might put you off going into a theatre for a while.
taxi4ballet
According to BBC TV News the emergency services were on the scene in about 3 minutes, and everyone is out of the building. About 80 or so were described as 'walking wounded' and there are several with more serious injuries and these were said to be not life-threatening, thank goodness.
Jan McNulty
Horrific news. Thoughts are with all who have been injured or affected. Well done to the theatre staff, the emergency services and staff from nearby theatres who helped.
taxi4ballet
They are now saying it appears to be the plaster ceiling and the lighting rig which came down, and not the roof itself.
Jan McNulty
Bad enough in itself. It is a miracle that no one was killed.
alison
Shocking. Hoping that the "serious" injuries too will prove less serious than originally thought

cornishprincess
my friend's daughter is a paramedic and was one of the first on the scene. Her dad is a fireman, also there....what a dreadful thing to happen. Could have been so much worse. Thoughts with them all
Fonty
It certainly could have been much worse. A speedy recovery to all those who have been injured. I should jolly well hope the fire services got there swiftly - the fire station is just around the corner!
LinMM
Yes almost just across the road! Looks like good news this morning in that nobody really seriously hurt. But a traumatising experience especially for the children involved and this show is popular with children.......when my friends were over form Oz in the summer her DD drove her mad to see this and she went with her big brother himself only 18 in the end.
