toursenlair Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 In the ongoing saga, Graham Spicer reports that Vladimir Urin has caved to pressure and is giving Nikolai Tsiskaridze a farewell performance at the Bolshoi in Nutcracker on New Year's Eve. http://www.gramilano.com/2013/09/ex-bolshoi-star-tsiskaridze-returns-dance-nutcracker-new-years-eve/
Ian Macmillan Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 Katherine: Credit where I suspect credit is due, to Ismene Brown who has been a substantial first source of English language reports on this developing story, thanks to her translations from Russian originals. See yesterday's Links for this: http://www.ismeneb.com/Blog/Entries/2013/9/27_Urin_ordered_to_give_Tsiskaridze_a_Bolshoi_farewell.html
PetitDi Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 Gramilano reports that Tsiskaridze's final appearance hasn't been quite confirmed as Urin revealed in an interview today: (Urin: "I like the idea. I hope that it will be possible. There is still not a final decision; we need to speak about some organizational issues.") http://www.gramilano.com/2013/09/bolshoi-theatre-director-filin-ratmansky-tsiskaridze-opera-image/
PetitDi Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 PS Tsiskaridze was born on 31st December 1973, so the performance would be on his 40th birthday!
