zxDaveM Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 NMC are performing in an abandoned old chapel on the corner of Shaftesbury Ave and Charing Cross Rd. all stripped back and bare, before its renovated The work is dance, lighting, projections, music collaborations, based on Homer's Odyssey. A guide takes you to vantage points in the old church to witness the work - a balcony, the basement, the ground floor, as the dancers move about, enacting and taking you on that Odyssey. Jan McNulty Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Fabulous photographs Dave. It sounds an interesting location for dance.
MichelleS Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 Aswell as the lure of seeing this fabulous building brought back into use, this features an outstanding group of dancers and a rare opportunity to watch them together in one piece. Thanks for the pictures, DaveM - very atmospheric!
Ian Macmillan Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 Interesting to see Clemmie Sveeas once again in a staging reminiscent of Witch Hunt. (I said I wouldn't forget it, and I haven't!) 2
