Lemongirl
Dd is doing a few days at Tring Park summer school in a few weeks time. The letter has specified that they should bring tap shoes if possible. Dd's never done tap before although she would like to try it. Is it worth buying tap shoes? How much are they roughly? If she doesn't bring them, I presume she won't be able to do a tap class? I've asked around if anyone has any she could borrow but no luck so far. Legseleven
Could you phone Tring Park and explain? They may be able to confirm whether any other type of shoes may work, or where you may be able to borrow a pair.

Anna C
Might be worth having a look on ebay?
pas de chat
My dd went last year and many girls didn't have tap shoes so wore character shoes instead which were just as good! I wouldn't waste the money as they grow out of them so quickly!
Lemongirl
I might see if I can get a pair on Ebay as I have a feeling dd's growth is really slowing down (I reached my final shoe size aged 11!). Should I go for taps on the heel and toe or just toe?
Anna C
If she's never done tap before I'd suggest just toe - but if you can only get heel & toe then don't worry too much. :-)
Moomin
You can get basic tap shoes for around £10. My little one has porselli brand ones with toe tap for £9.50 and my elder one has capezio tele tone toe & heel which were less than £15 and sound much nicer! If she's keen to try I would have thought it would be much more fun if she has the actual taps on her shoes? If your dance school does 2nd hand sales they may have some?
