The Broadway, Barking, IG11 7LS – Five minutes from Barking Station.


CounterPointe is a curated performance of new choreography by emerging and established women choreographers making work on pointe. Choreographers to be announced. A Q and A with the choreographers, about issues surrounding ballet and women and investigating pointework, led by an esteemed professional or scholar of dance is offered to the public at the end of each performance. Susie Crow of Ballet in Small Spaces will join the discussion on Tues, 18th June. Curated by Julia K. Gleich.


The choreographers on the programme for CounterPointe are:


  • Briar Adams
  • Sophie Adams and Aisling Cook of Ballet Ensemble London
  • Deborah Kate Norris
  • Carys Applebee
  • and featuring a new solo by Jennifer Jackson.

There will also be a sneak preview of Speak Easy Secrets by Julia K Gleich.

Sorry I am slow in replying. I have been a little busy. ;-)

 

But thank you for this inspiring reply. It is indeed the same programmme every night and the choreographers are:

and featuring a new solo by Jennifer Jackson and a sneak preview of Julia K. Gleich's Speak Easy Secrets.

 

Please note: due to slow sales the Monday 17th June performance has been cancelled.

Thanks for this Julia. I'm sorry you've had to cancel the Monday performance but I will definitely make it to at least one of the others and will spread the word to friends and colleagues at  Roehampton University. Looking forward to Speak Easy Secrets too.
