Jan McNulty Posted May 15, 2013 Share Posted May 15, 2013 I've wanted to see Sutra since I first read about it a few years ago because I am obsessed with Antony Gormley's Another Place installation and I loved the old TV series Kung Fu! Well, I finally got my chance tonight and was absolutely not disappointed! It is an intense 70 minutes of action around wooden boxes and precision martial arts movements. I loved the way the boxes were moved around and used and the elements of humour as well as the precision of the movement by the 17 Shaolin Monks and one European dancer. I don't know why I was surprised about how loud the noise was when the boxes were tipped over but it all added to the effectiveness of the accompanying score. I hadn't realised the music was played live, so that was an added delight. I just loved the whole evening! Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
