He did the best Dr. Coppelius I've ever seen.  I had the good fortune to see him take class and perform in the late 1960's.  He remained a bundle of positive energy well past "retirement."

Another great, great loss to ballet, although not surprising given his age.  It's only a year or two ago that he ceased performing, isn't it?  An amazing man: I remember the last time he talked to the London Ballet Circle, and kept us all enthralled with his tales.  I hope all those dancers - including those at the Royal with whom he worked reviving Devil's Holiday nearly a decade ago - will appreciate and remember everything he told them.

I like to think he is now re-united with all the legends with whom he shared a stage and they are dancing still and never getting old or tired.  And, someday I'll be in the audience watching.
