Bruce Wall
Another forum has very sadly announced that Frederic Franklin passed away yesterday. Still, WHAT an EXTRAORDINARY life. Edited May 5, 2013 by Meunier
Jan McNulty
Sad news but he was a grand age (98) and lived an amazing life. Condolences to family and friends.
Anjuli_Bai
He did the best Dr. Coppelius I've ever seen. I had the good fortune to see him take class and perform in the late 1960's. He remained a bundle of positive energy well past "retirement." A sad day for dance.

alison
Another great, great loss to ballet, although not surprising given his age. It's only a year or two ago that he ceased performing, isn't it? An amazing man: I remember the last time he talked to the London Ballet Circle, and kept us all enthralled with his tales. I hope all those dancers - including those at the Royal with whom he worked reviving Devil's Holiday nearly a decade ago - will appreciate and remember everything he told them. Anjuli_Bai
I like to think he is now re-united with all the legends with whom he shared a stage and they are dancing still and never getting old or tired. And, someday I'll be in the audience watching.
Beryl H
There's a marvellous photo of him in Seventh Symphony in today's Times obituaries, a lovely tribute.
developpedreamer
Very sad loss for the dancing world. An amazing life. I was watching him on the Ballet Russe dvd at the weekend and thought he was wonderful. I worry that so many young dancers are unaware of their ballet 'roots'.
