Hi Janet and nottsballetlover,

Thank you for your comments!

I either go to Nottingham (North) and High Wycombe (South) or  Cheltenham (South) and Buxton (North).

Waiting BRB press to post the full casting for Buxton and High Wycombe...

In London we have Hensel and Gretel (8-11 May) and The Great Gatsby by Northern Ballet (14-18 May).

Difficult to schedule myself....

Hi Janet,

I have heard that the stage of Buxton Opera House is nightmare for ballerinas. (part flat and part raked...)

Must be very difficult for some of BRB ballerinas who performed Don Q last year!

Best,

Ryo

Hi Janet,

I may.

I have not been well since May last year.

So I have to be very careful about myself.

I went to Buxton for BRB last year, but could not find the place to stay overnight...

So I came back from Manchester by overnight coach...

Beautiful opera house but difficult to get there from London...

Ryo

I am undecided about going but have just looked online and there are a lot of seats left for Nottingham Theatre Royal. Prices seem a lot cheaper than Birmingham. I don't remember seeing BRB go to Nottingham before. Is this new?

Hi Tabitha. I know BRB have been doing the split tour for 10 years but as a Nottingham resident for that period, this is the first time I've known them come here. I could be wrong! But whatever the case, I'm very pleased Nottingham is included this year! It's a nice intimate theatre to see ballet in.

I think it's the first time BRB has been to Nottingham.  I know that the company seems to have settled on Durham and York as regulars but they seem to have struggled to find other venues that suit up north-ish.

Mind you, as some critics seem to think that the north starts on the north side of Oxford Street I suppose High Wycombe is up north!

am going on friday maybe we can meet up & have a drink

Hi Sonik. Which section are you sitting in? I'll be in the stalls as I'm taking an elderly friend who can't get up to the circles (no lift!). Happy to meet up over a drink before show or in interval. I'm not sure yet if there will be one interval or 2 - the Theatre Royal website is still saying 'running time tbc'.

Hi sonik. Friday evening I'm going to be with 2 companions in J1,2,3, stalls right. I'll be in a pink jacket! Where are you sitting? I'll look out for you and wave and we could have a drink in the interval and say hello. You can send me a private message if you prefer.

For anyone reading this living within travelling distance of Nottingham, there are still lots of tickets left, particularly for the show on Saturday 11 April in the evening. I'm utterly delighted that BRB are coming to Nottingham for the first time and very much looking forward to seeing the company and their dancers - because I don't drive, it tends to be easier (and bizarrely cheaper.....!) for me to get to London/ROH than travel to Birmingham to see them.
