Pointytoes22
Financially it is not possible for me to take any more ballet classes at the moment but I'm really keen to do everything I can to get stronger and more flexible. I thought it might be a good idea to buy some Pilates/strengthening/stretching DVDs targeted at dancers which I could do at home to supplement my classes. Would people be able to suggest some good ones they have tried to me? Thanks!
Moomin
New York city ballet workouts are good. I'm terrible with DVDs, have good intentions but always end up doing other things instead!
dramascientist
I can reccomend Darcey Bussels "Pilates for life" my DD and I do it every morning during the summer vacation, it takes about an hour but it is excellent, it is not difficult to do but very effective. Good luck! Dramascientist
Moomin
Forgot, I also have the intermediate one by David Howard which is more of a proper ballet class but the quality of the DVD is not very good (old film). It requires a barre or makeshift barre and would be easier with hard floors so depends on your facilities. I prefer the nycb as it doesn't need these, so easier to do in the living room! Jan McNulty
Don't forget that Scottish Ballet have issued some fitness films that you can download from their website: Www.Scottishballet.co.uk
