Don’t miss your only chance to see Victor Quijada’s stunning RUBBERBANDance Group perform in the UK this Spring!

Victor Quijada’s pursuit of movement – acceleration, exaggeration, syncopated rhythms and physical prowess – is the central theme of Montreal-based RUBBERBANDance Group’s latest work.

Inspired by social issues stemming from the contrast between abundance and scarcity; driven by the idea that art can propel the spectator into the action; and interested in upending narrative structures, Gravity of Center blurs the boundaries between urban, contemporary and classical dance. Five dancers - a family, a nomadic tribe or an entire people - interweave, fight, crave and hustle in an astonishing fluidity of action.

An otherworldly Dalí inspired universe is created by lighting designer Yan Lee Chan, and music is provided by long-term collaborator Jasper Gahunia, aka DJ Lil’ Jaz.
