Angela Essex Posted October 1, 2024 Posted October 1, 2024 Hello Forum Members, A post popped up on Instagram saying it was World Ballet Day today (1st October 2024), but when I checked on the World Ballet Day website this is what it said: ”After 10 fantastic years of bringing together audiences around the globe on World Ballet Day, The Australian Ballet, The Royal Ballet, and San Fransisco Ballet have decided to pause the event this year. We're looking to return in 2025 with a refreshed and dynamic approach, bringing the World Ballet Day celebrations to even more people.” I am confused. Can anyone shed some light on this please? Is it World Ballet Day today? Isn’t it normally the first week in November?
Emeralds Posted October 1, 2024 Posted October 1, 2024 There was a long discussion about it under the news and information forum last week; none of the companies have told us why but given the rising costs of living worldwide and the need to build up funds to pay salaries, debts and other costs following pandemic cancellations, it's likely to due to lack of funding. I'll tag you to that thread so that you can read it all. 1
