Floor barre with ankle weights?

I know, it is not advisable to use ankle weights at the barre because the torque can damage the joints. But how about floor barre with ankle weights? Is that safe?

Quick reply but I’d just ask why. 
What is the desired outcome? 

If it’s to gain more strength then just do traditional strength & conditioning work where resistance/ weights can be easily incorporated. 

Adding weights to complex dance movements such as floor barre is certainly not advised from a dance science perspective (from my understanding).
