trog Posted February 6, 2023 Share Posted February 6, 2023 There are lots of classes at the DanceXchange (known as Fabric now for some reason) in the Hippodrome and classes as the Midlands Arts Centre in Edgbaston. LinMM Posted February 8, 2023 Share Posted February 8, 2023 Sorry took a while to get back to this as most of the performing opportunities I know of are in the London area! However as mentioned above Sander Blommaert runs adult workshops in Birmingham now. When he was in London he used to showcase once a year with a weekly workshop aimed at performing…..I don’t know if this aspect is happening in Birmingham. As also mentioned Northern Powerhouse ballet also run workshops and do some public performances but think they are more Manchester/ Leeds based. The Ballet retreats ( 2-3 days workshops) 2 to 3 times a year are run regularly in either London or Leeds by David Kierce based at Central school in London for his adult classes but they don’t do public performances as such. There’s a very good Amateur ballet company in Cambridge who do public performances every year ( usually just the one) and the same in Chelmsford.
