First woman to anchor a network news broadcast, in the 1970s.

 

Interviewed Anwar Sadat and Menachem Begin in a joint interview in 1977. 

 

Interviewed Fidel Castro.

 

Working journalist from 1951 to 2015.

 

Trailblazer, supporter and mentor of other female journalists, terrier-like in her tenacity.

 

...and in her last "Most Fascinating People" show, she finally mentioned ballet, including Misty Copeland.
