Peanut68 Posted October 28, 2022 Posted October 28, 2022 For Northern Ballet visits…. Amy recommendations would be great! Hilton chain reviews would be good too as get good reward scheme offers here! thanks in advance…
Jan McNulty Posted October 28, 2022 Posted October 28, 2022 The Travelodge in Vicar Lane is at the back of the Grand Theatre and is fine. I've also stayed in the Ibis Budget which is very handy for Quarry Hill and the Leeds Playhouse and about a 15 minute walk from the Grand. If you are driving I find the Premier Inn on Wellington St is very handy (with free parking) and is a short taxi ride to the centre of Leeds. The Radisson is about a 10 minute walk from the Grand and is very nice. I can't comment on the Hilton(s) never having stayed in them.
Peanut68 Posted October 28, 2022 Author Posted October 28, 2022 Thanks Jan! Need to be near Quarry Hill & do recall from previous day trips that day-long parking was very expensive near there so the idea of taking a taxi in & out probs does make sense for ease/time/hassle & probs not much more than the parking charges!
Pixiewoo Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 Probably too late, and no use for hotels, but the the 'your parking space' and 'just park' have parking spaces near Quarry Hill that are reasonably priced for the whole day.
Peanut68 Posted November 5, 2022 Author Posted November 5, 2022 Thank you Pixiewoo….much appreciated! I have used Just Park in London so will check it out for Leeds…. Yet to book where to stay….
bangorballetboy Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 I stayed in the Doubletree in Granary Wharf last weekend and thought it was an excellent hotel. 1
LinMM Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 Do the Doubletree prices compare reasonably favourably to Premier Inn I’d be interested to know especially if nearer the centre than Premier Inn. I’ve only stayed at the Ibis in Leeds because it was so close to the Northern Ballet Company buildings and wanted to be within really easy walking distance. Also not too far to walk from the main station. But I did notice a Travelodge which was a bit more central to the main town bit on my wanderings around! I was totally public transport dependent when I was there though. 1
Peanut68 Posted November 6, 2022 Author Posted November 6, 2022 As it looks like I may have enough ‘points’ for free stay in Hilton group looks like I need to choose between Hampton (closest but think no parking) Hilton (has pool but would I actually use it 🤔) & Doubletree…..
Tango Dancer Posted November 6, 2022 Posted November 6, 2022 I stayed in the Roomzzz aparthotel near Leeds station when was in Leeds on business. Clean and comfortable studios in a good location. You don't get a proper full breakfast but they provide coffee and pastries in the morning. 1
