Lisa O`Brien Posted June 9, 2022 Posted June 9, 2022 (edited) Does anyone remember the name of the BBC documentary about the Hammond School that was on TV a few years ago? I often think of the young lad who was desperate to dance but had to leave the school due to a lack of funding. Just wondered what happened to him. Edited June 9, 2022 by Lisa O`Brien
Farawaydancer Posted June 9, 2022 Posted June 9, 2022 There was an Elmhurst one which had the same - a boy leaving because he didn’t have funding. It’s still on YouTube I think.
dancefanatic Posted June 9, 2022 Posted June 9, 2022 just found the link and, as Farawaydancer says, it was about Elmhurst. It was made by BBC Wales I think and followed four (I think) welsh students. The lad in question had to leave Elmhurst and eventually got a scholarship for The Hammond. 2
Jewel Posted June 9, 2022 Posted June 9, 2022 According to the internet and social media (he has a few mutual friends with me) the boy did indeed go to Hammond and then onto London Russian Ballet School before taking up a professional contract in Bulgaria.
LinMM Posted June 9, 2022 Posted June 9, 2022 Yes Jewel is correct!! I saw him in class at London Russian in the days when went to classes there and have seen most of their shows and him dancing in them. Am very glad he finally got a contract. 1
Lisa O`Brien Posted June 9, 2022 Author Posted June 9, 2022 That's great to hear. Forgot it was about Elmhurst. So he's dancing professionally now? Gosh I didn't realise the documentary was so long ago. 1

Gosh I didn't realise the documentary was so long ago. It looks like covid interrupted the contract and he returned to the UK. Hopefully it will be a temporary hiatus.
