Artistic Director of English National Ballet School and Director of Unite for Ukraine, Viviana Durante said: “We have all seen the shocking images and been moved by the harrowing stories coming out of Ukraine. By coming together with six of the UK’s leading ballet schools we hope to use our art form to raise awareness of young people who have been adversely effected by the war and much needed funds for the DEC Ukraine Appeal to help provide essential support for those in Ukraine and neighbouring countries.” All schools, their associated artists and choreographers have donated their services for free and Sadler’s Wells has generously provided the theatre for free. capybara Posted April 20, 2022 Posted April 20, 2022 Great news. Sadler's Wells is experiencing problems with its website booking system at the moment so it might be best to ring [020 7863 8000] if you are keen to secure tickets.

capybara Posted May 14, 2022 Posted May 14, 2022 Derek Deane’s versions of Swan Lake include a pas de douze (as well as the Ashton one). In this instance, it’s a nice way of including a largish group of dancers in the show. 2

Lizbie1 Posted May 14, 2022 Posted May 14, 2022 I wonder if this indicates that it will be in the RBS summer performance.

Yes, it is scheduled to be in the RBS Summer Performance. I assume it's OK to quote from an email sent to Friends of the RBS: Edited to add that I've just realised that the information below applied to the Holland Park performances as well as to the Main House Matinée - i.e. it's possible that not everything will be included in the July 16 performance. "Once again, Artistic Director, Chris Powney, has curated an exciting and varied programme incorporating classical, contemporary and character elements. The programme will include Raymonda by Marius Petipa, PreSENTIENT by Wayne McGregor, Yondering by John Neumeier and the Pas de Douze from Ashton’s production of Swan Lake. The School is also delighted to bring new works by Mikaela Polley, Joseph Toonga and Jason Mabana, created on Royal Ballet School students especially for these performances. The Royal Ballet School Matinée will be accompanied by the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House, conducted by Paul Murphy, and will close, as is tradition, with the exuberant annual Grand Défilé bringing together all the students of the School." junedancer Posted May 14, 2022 Posted May 14, 2022 Tickets sales are dire - such a pity for the dancers and schools who have put the time into this and for the charity fundraising. I haven't seen much in the way of advertising on social media.
