For my two penn’orth, Adele Thomas’ fabulous production knocks Theodora into a cocked hat. An object lesson in how to give a modern twist to a period piece without engaging the cringe factor. And wonderful singing too. If this is an example of what the Irish National Opera can do, I’ll be off to Dublin pronto. 3

Only two more days to go ...
