No Pink Tutus
YDA -Young Dancers Academy, and Westend school of Dance. Any information greatly received🙏 My son has just been offered a full place , he’s currently in year 7 . Do the school also teach academics on top of Dance? I can’t see anything of timetables. For students who live outside of London and can’t travel daily,I can’t see any boarding options? He Auditioned for a associate place. So overwhelmed and overjoyed. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. ;) xox 🌎
Sim
Hello. I have moved your post to Doing Dance as this is the place where all the lovely community of dance parents help each other. ❤️
Dancing unicorn
Hiya Do you mean he’s been offered a full time place or an associate place? If it’s a full time place then surely you would have been told about academics and boarding! Congrats by the way 🎉
Mrs Tea
Hello, they don't board at YDA and yes they do have full academics alongside their dance training.
Dancing unicorn
May be I should have said accommodation rather than boarding! As yes there’s no boarding at YDA 🤪
Dance.Mum
I am reading from your post that you auditioned for associates and were offered a full-time place. This happens at YDA from what I heard when I was looking at the school last year although we looking at Year 10 entry directly. We decided against it for a number of reasons but did get some good advice from current parents on the forum. They have some accommodation options and on-site academics all be it that GCSE options are limited. I am sure someone will be able to provide details. coniger
YDA is a lovely school - only about 50 in full time training. Their academic results are brilliant for GCSE and no they don't have traditional boarding facilities but do have accommodation. I know a boy there who is very happy.
