Recommended Posts

Opera Holland Park have announced changes to their theatre for this summer season. The capacity will be reduced from 1000 to 400 to allow for socially distanced seating.

There is no mention of any performances by the Royal Ballet School.   But there does look to be a gap in their announced schedule in early July which is when any RBS performances might typically take place. Of course, that ight not be possible for all sorts of reasons.  But the venue plan looked interesting.

Sadly your prediction was correct.  The following was contained in a message just received from the RBS:

The Summer Performances are still a bit of an uncertainty. We are, however, determined for the students to perform and will do everything we can to ensure they do. Sadly, we will not be at Opera Holland Park this year, but we very much hope to be performing in the Royal Opera House.

Let's hope that the Main House performance is able to go ahead.

I’m rather hoping there may be more than one performance at the ROH given that Opera Holland Park is not available. Also who knows what social distancing will be operating and tickets may be in very short supply. But it’s great to think that the RBS may be performing.
