Hi all congratulations to eveyones DCs on audition results!

Our DS has been offered a boarding place at Tring on the junior performance course starting in September and an audition for funding - so so excited!

can anyone give us any advice on funding and how do we know if we are eligible for bursary - I am assuming all means tested but at what level?  We are fortunate that we could help fund some of this but absolutely no way all of it?  Can anyone give me an idea what levels of funding are offered and what is threshold of earnings to qualify?

we have also had a yes today for WL audition but all aspects of performing are more my DS then just ballet, but not ruling out anything at this stage!

I think last year it was about 60-70 girls and 30 boys through to WL finals . Congratulations to your DD xx

Thank you so much @BbcBoy, my DD only applied in the last deadline week so still haven't heard anything...really worried that as we left it so late all the places for MDT auditions will be already allocated...😥. x

We are still waiting too. Our deadline was 25th Jan. hoping we hear next week

Hi

DD has been offered a place at Tring for September (letter has just arrived!). It says though that they can’t guarantee a boarding place yet.

Is this normal? Is it safe to accept a day place (we live the other end of the country)?!

Hi

i'm not too sure however my DD auditioned for the sixth form this year for both the acting and musical theatre course and was offered a boarding place on both courses - so she can choose - but on her letter it she was offered a place to board straight away - I hope this helps ?

well done to your DD for getting.

The boarding for sixth form is in a fantastic new building but doesn’t mean there are more boarding places further down the school x

Not all 6th form in new House sadly.... quite a few in Mansion which is a shame - particularly with the current covid restrictions which limits inter-house mixing especially at weekends. Self isolating at school due to cases was particularly challenging & depressing for those brave youngsters who stayed in school (rather than go home) in order to protect their families; can’t have been easy for them or staff whichever boarding house they were in (though sone rooms more spacious than others for trying to dance in!) I think the 6th form students around the country are so missing out on the experiences they should be enjoying. Goodness knows how high a price will be paid in the long run through loss of training, loss of socialising, loss of motivation & self believe & happiness. I could weep when I think on this....
