"Proper" opera productions restarting at the Royal Opera House - or not

We are delighted to announce that Puccini's operatic thriller Tosca will be opening our Winter programme in January 2021.

Led by opera superstar Anna Netrebko, The Royal Opera will be reviving Jonathan Kent’s 2006 production for their first fully staged opera since we closed in March. Our two other casts will star Saioa Hernández and Malin Byström, in a production which perfectly evokes the troubled atmosphere of Rome in 1800 and Tosca's combination of sensuality and religious sincerity.

As well as being able to watch the production in our glorious theatre, Tosca will be live-streamed on Friday 22 January 2021.

Without even an audience-free relay?    Mind you, I suppose that's what they did with the Nutcracker too, and circumstances haven't changed

yep - canceled as well.

to clarify it’s just performances to the end of January cancelled (at this point in time).

ROH has now canceled all remaining performances,
