I'm sure they'll all be appropriately distanced. they had fixed options of groups between 3 and 6. So it’s not immediately clear why the seating plan wouldn’t be pre-planned. Now I'm wondering which bits been chopped (10mins from Act 2 would hint at the Rose Fairy waltz, with all that lifting between lead flowers and cavaliers, and Rose herself. Utterly idle speculation, I hasten to add!! 🙂 Perhaps they’ve increased the tempo of the music so that the dancers spend less time in proximity to one another? 🤔

RuthE
The cast sheet for tonight’s General Rehearsal is now online. Judging by the listed characters, it looks as though the Spanish and Arabian dances are out. Not sure about what’s gone from Act 1... we don’t seem to have a Dancing Mistress for a start. Could also just be Kevin O'Hare giving Fumi Kaneko/Wm Bracewell another show as they only have one at the moment. Odyssey
Interesting omissions. Shame about the Arabian dance, but understandable. Rationing in the Kingdom of Sweets
alison
I'm just hoping the performances do go ahead. With London teetering on the brink of Tier 3, it's worrying times - for the companies and other businesses.

capybara
It did feel safe at the ROH today. And lovely to encounter some regular audience members. Spoiler alert........ The mother subs. for the Dancing Mistress. Far fewer people on stage in many scenes. Corps dancers in the fight in place of children. Fritz doesn’t ‘fly’. I can understand the loss of The Arabian Dance but not sure why the Spanish had to go too. Fingers crossed that all shows can go ahead. The Covent Garden area generally wasn’t very populated tonight.
bridiem
The Times article in today's Links confirms that the Dec 22nd performance will be livestreamed. I'm not aware this has actually been conveyed to potential audiences yet though maybe I've missed it.

So in the amphi, it's row A, C, E etc that are used. B, D etc are completely empty. In the rows that are occupied there are two empty seats between each group. The boxes seem to be occupied as normal though - I couldn't be sure.
