alison
I suspect that quite a few visitors to Covent Garden will have visited Stanford's marvellous travel bookshop, in either its old or its new location, while they were there. I was very upset to see this: https://www.timeout.com/london/news/much-loved-travel-bookshop-stanfords-is-fundraising-for-survival-111120?cid=email--NEWSLETTER--EMEA_GB_LON_EN_NEWSLETTER_20201112_TEST--273191--11/12/2020&subsid=35863--115--5792718 Obviously, it's not the only bookshop, or even shop, at risk, but it does remind us how precarious life can be for our independent/specialist shops, especially in the current times Ian Allen's railway bookshop at Waterloo is scheduled to close next month, too
Jan McNulty
Oh how awful. I love Stanfords.
taxi4ballet
I hope they find a way to come through this. A friend of mine used to work there some years ago.
