RBS year 6 JA audition. Email class

I think it’s a consideration for those with more than one offer. Ballet boost have had online teaching through all of this....small groups with individual feedback. RBS (I think) sent JA’s videos to follow but nothing live.

Ballet Boost operate more like a local dance school in a lot of ways, albeit a selective one. RBS, Elmhurst and Tring (for example) have the challenge of making sure the provision for their full-time students is in place, and this involves a lot of the same teachers. Online lessons are exhausting to deliver, and videos/ activity packs might be the best way they can realistically cater for associates when they have a full-time school to operate at the same time.

Future plans need to be part of the consideration when choosing which schemes to pick up or drop. The vast majority of girls at Year 7 WL finals are JAs, though not all of course, and they do help prepare children to take the audition.

Wow that's really amazing 👏... thank you so much for sharing that. Which did you end up picking ? Xx

We ended up doing RBS weekly and Ballet Boost every 3 weeks,  we declined Elmhurst so she had some time to herself lol but she is auditioning again for Elmhurst young dancers for a year 6 place as well as starting prelimeries for vocational schools, so we are on the audition roundabout again and I still don't know what I'm doing! Haha she has a Yr 6 RBS place and a BB junior associates place still, it's going to be busy this year but I'm sure she'll will make memories and I will go a little greyer! 😂 x

I *think* they started with London (if it's by venue) as ours was watched v early on. Can't really work out whether they are going by venue though? As first I thought so, as I assumed that they must be going with whatever structure they had for auditions initially, which is venue based obviously, but then realised they must have put loads of staff on furlough so maybe that becomes irrelevant.

Not that I'm overthinking this or anything 😆

Dd has an offer from elsewhere and is really enjoying her interim Zoom lessons with them and the longer this takes, the more I prevaricate about the best thing to do whatever the outcome, partly (mostly) because I just like to make a decision and move on ... the uncertainty is killing me 😬

I’ve been overthinking myself! Keep trying to forget about it but it’s not easy with so much up in the air for everyone.  Hopefully when we find out it is at the same time then we can all decide about the different offers and make the right decisions.

If London  hasn’t been watched maybe it will be longer

wonder if it will follow suite like the live auditions and send all the NO’s first 🙃 or just send all the emails together 🤷‍♀️

I was absolutely convinced it would be next week. But maybe I’m totally underestimating the scale of the task...

Same! It might still be who knows i hope it’s not next week in a way the longer the better x

I don’t think they sent out the NO’s first last year? I thought it was just one big mailshot per venue

Ooh that’s loads better I’m going off a few years ago this is our first time auditioning!

I wonder if the videos are being viewed in order of submission?  We sent my DD video in during the first week and it was viewed early on.  Our surname is at the end of the alphabet so I doubt it would be in alphabetical order unless it’s in reverse. I was really hoping we would find out this week,  it must be a huge task to get through them all.

We uploaded ours on 9th June, also quite early. Surname early in alphabet too.  So not sure how they are doing it. Sure there will be a method in there somewhere. Maybe they looked at photos initially and watched the ones they thought fit the bill first. The waiting makes you think all sorts of things, both positive and negative. At least we will hear on here when results start coming out, so might be clearer then!
